WHO IS IT FOR?
- Everyone who wants to embody better the value of inclusiveness in the workplace, and for that, is willing to become more mindful of our common "unconscious biases" and ready to transform themselves.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Unconscious biases are stereotypes, judgments and behaviors we attribute to others, without being aware of it. Unconscious biases affect (unintentionally) our attitude toward a person or a group of people. Some situations can activate our unconscious biases, for instance when we are stressed or working under time pressure. Unconscious biases are far more frequent than conscious prejudices and often incompatible with one’s conscious values.
These 5 days Team Challenge will allow you to become more familiar with the most common "unconscious biases" and become more mindful of your own reactions. It will certainly encourage you to understand further -- and to reprogram -- your unconscious (limiting) beliefs.
At work, these are important leadership skills for collaborating, innovating, recruiting, retaining talents more effectively, for becoming an active advocate of inclusiveness and build a more vibrant workplace.
The structure of the daily activities will be the following:
One 30 minutes live session on Monday September 20th, at 7:00 PM - to introduce the topic and team challenge, followed by a 15 minute guided meditation with music.
DAY 2 TO DAY 5:
Each day you will be expected to:
- (10 min) Learn about one or few common unconscious biases, that you will be then invited to look for and identify during your daytime and journal these stories in your notebook.
- (5 to 15 min) Read a short publication or watch a video to strengthen your learning.
- (15 min) Meditate to increase your self-awareness and to deepen your ability to transform yourself.
- (5 min) Share your findings, experience, or questions in the Chat, and encourage the team.
The daily activities to complete will be sent directly to the Uloo App on our phone.
ABOUT YOUR COACH
Hi, my name is Laurence and I hope I can help you develop yourself and your leadership in this friendly environment. I was a General Manager in IBM when, few years ago, I discovered meditation in India and enjoyed very soon the many benefits of this practice. I became Corporate Mindfulness sponsor and introduced meditation to thousands of leaders and professionals across IBM and other organizations. Then I decided to co-found with friends the non-profit “Buddha-CEO Quantum Foundation” in 2020 and to devote my time to teaching meditation and mindfulness, especially in the corporate and academic world.
Diversity and inclusiveness in the workplace has always been a priority for me, moreover as I have been leading global organizations for more than 20 years, means multi-cultural teams, and I lived in France, USA and Singapore. In addition, I always needed to attract, inspire, and retain very diverse talents to enable continuous innovation and success in my business units. And that is now the same in the non-profit activities, working closely with volunteers in India.
Mindfulness gave me new keys become aware of my emotions and reactions, to dig into my unconscious mind, to identify many of my limiting beliefs and self-talks and to work on it and transform into a better leader.
I am also a wife and mother of 2 boys. My youngest son having a severe handicap is also my daily teacher on the topics of unconscious biaises and inclusion.
I love horses, walking in nature, reading, traveling and learning new skills.
